Maureen Humphrey-Shelton
Air Force Civil Engineer Center Chief Librarian
Panama City, Florida Area
I am a graduate of the University of Kentucky and am originally from Louisville, Kentucky. I have worked in a variety of libraries including public, academic, medical, and engineering. Since becoming a government librarian I have worked for the Department of the Army, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of the Air Force. Currently I oversee the library program for the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, with locations throughout the world, and also serve as the STINFO Officer for the Requirements and Acquisitions division located on Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. Recently Tyndall Air Force Base took a direct hit from Hurricane Michael. My library program sustained damage and unfortunately we lost one of our library locations, completely, to the massive storm surge brought in by the hurricane. Even through all of this, I can still say that I have the best job in the world and go home everyday knowing that what I did that day had an impact and possibly even helped to save someone's life!
